 Welcome Back! Upcoming Dates: Photo retakes: November 19 This was my last week with 5D before maternity leave.  I felt so lucky to have been able to spend the beginning of the year with you!  I will miss all of you! Math We started coordinate geometry by drawing large coordinate planes and locating coordinates with the Dash Bots. Art We used inspiration from colourful paper Diwali lanterns to create radial symmetry art. PE

Week of October 1

We had a short, but good week! Science - Earth Systems We finished up our experiment about where the windiest place is in the NLS school yard. We reviewed for our Place Value show what you know by playing Jeopardy. Comparing and ordering numbers to the thousandths place.   Please see the Show What You Know.  Some students requested more practice.  Students can review this sheet and answer similar questions if the would like more practice. Week of September 22

  IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES September 29 – Non-Instruction Day – NO SCHOOL for students September 30 – NO SCHOOL – National Day for Truth & Reconciliation October 2 – Picture Day October 3 - Show What You Know - Place Value PICTURE DAY October 2 is individual school photo day and group photo day.  The times are not set and predictable, so we ask that families do their best to have their children at school for the full day to avoid being missed. Thanks for your help! OPEN HOUSE It was wonderful meeting all the families at Open House last night! If you weren’t able to attend, please feel free to email me to schedule a time to visit next week. WEEK FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION We read I Am Not a Number and began Fatty Legs to learn more about the experiences of individuals who attended Residential Schools.
