Many students wish to have their faces posted on the Blog. Ensure you have the form completed on Power School ASAP.

This week!

Math

We worked on reading and writing numbers into the millions.  Students should practice at home until they feel confident. Ex: Have a family member or friend read a number aloud that has a zero in the middle of the number.  Teach them the card game we played in class!

We played The Price is Right and Junkyard to reinforce the skills.

Science

We were introduced to climate and weather.  Students worked on understanding the difference between the 2 and learned about the different climate zones.  More information can be found in the Google Classroom.

Literacy Centres

We started practicing different skills for Literacy Centres.  Students read to a partner to practice their decoding strategies, their fluency and expression.

You Be You

We read You Be You by Linda Kranz to celebrate how we are all unique.  Students sketched their own fish and used water colour to create their own art.

Field Study Friday

Students chose their sit spots for 5 minutes of mindfulness.  Students did an excellent job sketching what they observed and noticing their 4 senses outside.
